As of September 30, 2015, Oracle’s Siebel Innovation Pack 2015 release no longer includes SAP SQL Anywhere for the local database for Siebel Remote (Mobile Web Client) or for Siebel Tools, or for the sample database for Mobile Web Client.
As a result, Siebel Tools, Siebel Remote and Sample DB are currently not available for download off of eDelivery. Siebel Tools and the Oracle XE version of Sample DB will be available in 15.5.
Siebel Remote will support Oracle XE as a Local DB in IP2016 where Oracle Database XE will be the only supported Local DB and Sample DB.
What does this mean for existing customers?
Existing customers upgrading to IP2015 (15.0) or a 15.x PatchSet should not be impacted and can continue to use SAP SQL Anywhere until September 2020. Customers will need to file a Service Request to get access on MyOracle Support to the 15.0 installers that include the SQL Anywhere Sample DB.
What does this mean for new customers?
New customers starting from September 30th, 2015 or later will only be able to use Oracle Database XE for their Local DB and Sample DB. Please find the associated release notes here: Doc ID: 1996273.1
